The Petar Preradović Square

The Petar Preradović Square known as the Flower Square (Cvjetni trg).

It was named after the Croatian army general and poet Petar Preradović (1818 – 1872). This pedestrian square is a popular meeting place famous for its flower stands where local people enjoy drinking coffee and having fun with friends in numerous cafés. The square is the venue of various events: promotions, concerts and the special atmosphere that take place during the Advent Fair. You can also see the Octagon on the square, a unique passage in Zagreb and the oldest of the kind in this part of Europe from the 19th century, Petar Preradović statue and the Orthodox Church built in 1866.
